RacePilot is designed to keep your data on your devices. We collect as little as possible, and the free web Race Builder runs entirely in your browser.
What information RacePilot stores
Your races, plans, nutrition, aid stations, transitions and routes are stored on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your private iCloud account. This data is yours; we do not sell it or share it with third parties.
Location
During a race, the Apple Watch app uses location and motion data to track your distance, speed, pace and position along your route. This data is used to power the live race dashboard and is stored with your race history on your device. It is not sent to us.
Apple Watch
When you sync a race, the plan is transferred from iPhone to your paired Apple Watch so it can run independently. Race data recorded on the Watch syncs back to your iPhone.
iCloud
If you use iCloud, your races sync across your devices through your private iCloud database. Apple manages this storage; we cannot read your iCloud data.
In-app purchases
RacePilot Full is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details — Apple handles all billing.
Web Race Builder data
The Race Builder on this website processes GPX files and routes entirely in your browser. When you import a GPX or draw a route, the file is read and analyzed locally on your device — it is never uploaded to a server. Your working draft is saved in your browser's local storage so it can survive a refresh; you can clear it at any time from within the tool. Exported GPX and RacePilot files are generated in your browser and downloaded directly to your device.
Website analytics
This website does not use third-party advertising trackers. App Store links carry a source label so we can understand which pages lead to installs; this does not identify you.
