Getting started

Create your first race in the Races tab: choose a race type, add your activities, then fill in nutrition, aid stations and transitions. Your first race is free.

Syncing to Apple Watch

Open the race on iPhone and tap Sync. Make sure your Apple Watch is nearby, unlocked and paired, and that the RacePilot Watch app is installed. Once synced, the race works on the Watch independently — you can leave your phone behind at the start.

Importing a GPX route

GPX import and course maps are part of RacePilot Full. Add a route to an activity from the race detail screen. You can also build or edit a GPX for free in the web Race Builder and export it, then import that file into the app.

Planning nutrition

Build a timed fueling plan (gels, drinks, salts) on iPhone. During the race the Watch counts down to each item and confirms your logs with a haptic. The Free tier includes a limited nutrition library; Full unlocks the unlimited library.

Route troubleshooting

If a route looks wrong, check that the GPX contains track points (trk/trkseg/trkpt) with latitude and longitude. Elevation is optional — where it's missing, the elevation profile is simply hidden. Very large files are simplified for performance without changing total distance.

Restoring purchases

Purchases are tied to your Apple ID. On a new device, open RacePilot and choose Restore Purchases in Settings while signed in to the same Apple ID.
